James Maitland

Regional Head of Americas and Global Capital Markets Service Line Leader

James Maitland joined Ocorian* in 2018. He is the Regional Head of Americas and Caribbean with overall responsibility for the region.

James oversees all aspects of the business in the Americas and Caribbean including client service delivery, business development and operations; his regional remit also encompasses product and market development, strategy, HR, finance, risk and compliance.

James works collaboratively with the teams in Bermuda, BVI, Cayman and Hong Kong to set strategy, develop capabilities and identify opportunities for growth. Together with the jurisdictional teams, James maintains strong relationships with Ocorians’s clients and intermediaries to effectively support their strategic priorities and activities.

James has more than 30 years’ experience spanning regional, business and client management of debt capital market securities services. His broad industry experience includes fixed income, structured finance and common depositary services. James has been based in London and New York, with extensive global travel, assignments and responsibilities. Prior to joining Ocorian*, James most recently held Global Business Executive and International Division Executive roles at a leading global investments & securities services bank (Issuer Services - Corporate Trust), including responsibility for the bank’s Global Common Depositary business.

James has an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics/Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
