Job Description

Purpose of the Job

The Strategy Associate will work directly to the co-CEOs, turning Ocorian's strategic priorities into work that is properly planned, sequenced and delivered. The role is the connective tissue between intent and execution: it takes the decisions made at Group level and makes sure they land in the business, on time and with evidence of impact.

Ocorian is a global business of more than 2,000 colleagues across 20+ countries, serving thousands of clients across asset manager services, private wealth and corporates and issuer services.

The role exists to give the co-CEOs high-quality execution capacity. It structures initiatives, builds the plan in patnership with accountable business owners, chases the detail, and facilitates delivery of expected outcomes.

This is a hands-on, early-career role with unusually senior executive exposure. In practice the Strategy Associate will be working directly with the executive team, seeing how a global regulated financial services business is actually run, and trusted with real ownership of workstreams from the outset.

Main Responsibilities

Strategy Execution

  • Facilitate strategy setting and articulation with the co-CEOs and the executive team
  • Translate Group and service line strategic priorities into clear workplans with named owners, milestones, dependencies and success measures.
  • Scope new initiatives with the sponsoring executive: problem statement, options, resource requirement, timeline and expected value.
  • Maintain a single, current view of the progress of the strategic agenda and report at executive leadership
  • Follow through on decisions taken in executive forums so that actions are assigned, understood and completed

Analysis, Insight & Support to the co-CEO

  • Prepare analysis on markets, competitors, clients and internal performance to inform strategic choices.
  • Turn complex or incomplete information into a clear
  • Draft papers, presentations and briefing notes for the executive team, the Board and, where appropriate, external audiences.
  • Own a small number of discrete projects end to end on behalf of the co-CEO.
  • Handle confidential and commercially sensitive material with complete discretion.
Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Two to four years' experience in a business manager, project management, strategy, programme or chief of staff type role - in a financial or professional services, consulting, banking or fintech start-ups or scale-ups
  • Strong academic record; a relevant degree or professional qualification is welcome but not essential.
  • Structured problem solving: able to take an ambiguous question, break it down, and reach an answer defensible through data and factual analysis.
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and presentation skills: able to build a clear, well-designed executive and board-level decks
  • Clear, concise written English, and comfort drafting for an executive and Board audience.
  • Project management discipline - plans, actions, owners, dates, follow-up
  • Confident with senior stakeholders across cultures and time zones,
  • Genuine interest in financial services, outsourcing solutions and practical application of AI tools
  • Comfortable exploring and using AI tools day to day and being a champion for new use cases and adoption
  • Entrepreneurial ownership: happy to roll sleeves up, be in the detail personally, and finish things without being chased.
  • Organised when priorities move at short notice, keeping track of everything in flight.
  • Quick to learn an unfamiliar subject to a useful level of depth.
  • Discreet and ambitious, with sound judgement on confidentiality and a clear appetite to build a career at Ocorian.
