Job Description

Purpose of the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients while developing your expertise across complex accounting, financial reporting and client service activities. Working closely with colleagues and management, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial information, building strong client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members. Your technical knowledge, attention to detail and collaborative approach will help drive exceptional client outcomes and contribute to the continued success of the team.

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting and reporting services.
  • Prepare and review accounting records, complex reconciliations, management accounts and financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and agreed deadlines.
  • Partner with clients and auditors to ensure the smooth delivery of financial reporting requirements and the timely completion of audits.
  • Support the delivery of exceptional client service by responding to queries, resolving issues and helping clients meet their reporting obligations.
  • Share your expertise with colleagues by reviewing work, providing guidance and supporting the ongoing development of junior team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment by supporting process improvements, knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Assist management with client deliverables, budgets, projects and day-to-day operational matters, helping to drive efficiency and service excellence.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, compliance and confidentiality, ensuring all work is completed in line with Ocorian's policies, procedures and professional standards.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Fully qualified ACCA or ACA, and/or hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with relevant experience in accounting, audit or financial services.
  • 4 to 6 years' experience preparing client financial statements and management accounts, ideally within Capital Markets, Real Estate, Private Equity or other alternative investment structures.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, with exposure to UK GAAP or other accounting frameworks considered an advantage.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as eFront, Navision, ViewPoint or Value Financials would be beneficial.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with a good working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients, auditors and colleagues across the business.
  • A collaborative and proactive individual who enjoys sharing knowledge, supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to team success.
