Job Description

Purpose of the Job

As a Fund Accounting Manager, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by leading a talented team, building strong client relationships and overseeing the delivery of fund accounting services for a diverse portfolio of Private Equity and Real Estate clients. You'll play a key role in supporting the growth of both our clients and our people, while helping to drive excellence across everything we do.

Main Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of Private Equity and Real Estate clients, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of fund accounting services, financial statements, NAV calculations, capital calls, distributions and other client reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, auditors and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact and delivering exceptional client service while managing expectations and resolving issues effectively.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing technical guidance, managing workloads, reviewing deliverables and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of accounting records, reconciliations, tax filings and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and Ocorian policies.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective planning, resource management, process improvements and the continued enhancement and automation of fund accounting processes.
  • Monitor client profitability, billing, timesheets and service delivery metrics, ensuring commercial objectives and client commitments are achieved.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring strong controls, governance standards and regulatory compliance across the client portfolio.
  • Support business growth by strengthening client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance the success of the team and wider business.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Fully qualified ACCA or ACA, with postgraduate qualifications considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience within fund accounting, accounting, audit or financial services, ideally with exposure to global business environments.
  • Strong expertise in Private Equity and Real Estate Fund Accounting, including fund reporting, NAV production, waterfall calculations and IFRS reporting. Experience in Fund Administration would be advantageous.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing, developing and motivating teams within a fund accounting environment.
  • Strong systems knowledge, including hands-on experience with eFront, Paxus and advanced Excel. Experience with Value Financials would be beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, auditors, regulators and internal teams.
