Job Description

The role of a Senior Business Analyst is to work as part of a team to support Ocorian business through efficient and innovative use of technology. This role will help with identifying requirments, managing change and establishing best practice in global usage of IT systems across all Ocorian jurisdictions as the business grows.

The Senior Business Analyst will help to deliver high quality and consistent data, processes and reporting in all business areas through the use of technology including participating in associated projects to implement same.

This position requires a high level of cross-jurisdictional business awareness together with a firm understanding of the services offered by Ocorian and their commercial impact. It calls for a strong skill set covering system and data analysis, data management, spread-sheet working, document writing, reporting, project planning and business intelligence as well as operational and risk knowledge.

Main responsibilities

  1. Work with the Business Partnering Team Lead and team to help identify and support the ongoing technology needs of the business.
  2. Carry out business process, application, and data analysis across existing and potential new business applications to identify gaps, establish best practice and promote group-wide consistency. This includes working with colleagues across the business to identify, document and efficiently deliver the necessary objectives.
  3. Identify opportunities to streamline and consolidate processes and applications. 
  4. Prepare business requirements documents including specifications and deliverables according to business area and work with other project team members and suppliers to deliver programme change and manage testing required.
  5. Promote and assist with the optimisation and capture of core client data to support the compliance and risk reporting models consistent with Group standards and initiatives.
  6. Manage projects in line with the Ocorian programme management standards.
  7. Analyse data held in core systems and make an assessment of the likely impact of data gaps or data quality issues on business processes.
  8. Ensure change control & release management standards are always followed, including ensuring that all documentation is kept up to date.
  9. Contribute to and maintain system and user guidance documentation including advice on best practice.
  10. Be proactive, manage expectations and keep colleagues regularly updated on the progress of their changes and aware of anticipated timeframes for completion, including working with the wider Technology Team to manage conflicting priorities and maintain project tracking for regular project reporting.
  11. Any other such duties that might be reasonably required for this role.

Qualifications Required
  1. 5+ years of experience in financial services business and software applications together with an interest in automation technology.
  2. The ability to work logically and efficiently in a culturally diverse, collaborative multi-jurisdictional environment.
  3. Strong project skills (PRINCE 2 or similar) with a proven track record of working in project teams with mixed skillsets and levels of technical knowledge while displaying professionalism and ability to win the respect of stakeholders.
  4. Excellent organisational skills with ability to work effectively under pressure and experience of working to fixed deadlines with a results-oriented mindset and focus on driving growth and achieving tangible outcomes.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  6. The role involves interactions at all levels/jurisdictions at Ocorian and with external parties so excellent interpersonal skills are essential including a high level of integrity together with strong written and oral communication skills.
  7. Must be quick and effective with the ability to devise pragmatic innovative solutions where appropriate and the self-motivation to tackle complex tasks independently as well as part of a team.
  8. A deep understanding of information security and compliance processes and the project lifecycle.
  9. Some experience of supporting users within a technical and business environment.
  10. Ability to understand and interpret reporting specifications would be an advantage.
  11. A willingness to support the future growth and success of the group.
