Rick Medlock

About

Rick is an experienced Non-Executive Director and Advisor in the public markets and private equity arena, specialising in technology and business services.

Rick currently chairs two Inflexion-owned private companies, inspection and testing leader BES Group and Treasury SAAS business, Nomentia. In the listed plc sector, he is an NED and Chair of the Audit Committee of FTSE250 Deliveroo. He served as Chair of Francisco Partners owned BluJay Solutions in 2021 and is an advisor to STJ and SilverTree Equity.

Rick has more than 30 years of experience in the business and financial management of large international technology companies, most recently Chief Financial Officer at Worldpay, a position he held until the merger with Vantiv Inc. Rick joined Worldpay from Misys (now Finastra, owned by Vista Equity Partners) where he was also Chief Financial Officer. From 2004 to 2013 Rick was Chief Financial Officer of Inmarsat plc and prior to that he was CFO of NDS Group plc. The early part of his career was spent in a variety of roles as CEO/CFO of a number of private-equity backed technology companies in the U.K. and the U.S.

Rick has extensive experience of growing and transforming businesses while under private equity ownership, and has led a number of IPOs both in the US and the UK, including Worldpay’s own listing on the LSE in 2015. In total, he has been involved in ten exits, and four IPOs and numerous acquisitions and disposals. He was also Chair of Momondo/Cheapflights and NED at Smith + Nephew, Datatec, Sophos, Lovefilm, Thus plc, Edwards Vacuum, Mondiale Publishing and OpenBet.
