Louise Charleson

Louise advises clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial, regulatory, and trust maters. She commenced her career in law with a leading re/insurance firm in London and has extensive legal experience in Bermuda. She held senior positions at prominent offshore law firms and headed up the legal department at a financial institution in the jurisdiction before joining Ocorian Law (Bermuda) Limited as a Partner in February 2020. 

Louise acts as a non-executive director on a number of Boards of companies including commercial re/insurers, captives, insurance managers, brokers, asset managers, investment funds, healthcare providers and charitable foundations. She is also a liquidator for members voluntary liquidations.

Louise is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association, the Institute of Directors and 100 Women in Finance. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb), is STEP qualified and currently sits on the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Bermuda Branch Committee as well as the STEP Caribbean Conference Committee. Louise has been recommended by her peers to be included as a Rising Leader in the Private Client Global Elite 2023 Directory.

Louise attended King’s College, Cambridge (BA Hons and MA (Cantab)). She completed her legal studies in London and Oxford, UK. She qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2005 and was called to the Bar of Bermuda in 2010.
