Job Description

Purpose of the role 

This individual will work closely with the BI Manager and CDO to support the development of the newly restructured Data & Analytics team through the development of internal reporting & analytics capability. They will also support the development of data capability across the business, working in close collaboration with a range of stakeholders across the business.  

In addition, they will provide guidance, support and training to BI and Data specialists across the Business. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leads small-to-medium scale analytics projects, from outlining scope and planning to executions and delivery, with support from Data & Analytics Lead where necessary 
  • Acts as the expert on internal data resources for the wider business 
  • Serves as the key resource for interpreting data and information; communicates results to team members 
  • Provides support to junior team members and for developing analytical capabilities across the business 
  • Utilizes BI tools for detailed reporting, data analysis, and prioritization of reporting needs across the business 
  • Develops standardized processes for data extraction, management, and reporting 
  • Maintains and develops strong working relationships with business owners as a process advocate 
  • Leads effective commutation upwards to the management team including presenting and production of any associated presentation materials

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Requires a minimum of two years direct progressively responsible experience with expert analytics and reporting experience, ideally in a relevant sector 
  • Strong leadership abilities, including experience leading teams or projects, and the ability to manage junior team members and contribute to cross-functional problem-solving 
  • Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams 
  • Ability to provide expert steer and knowledge into wider team settings, leading where required 
  • Expert knowledge of Power BI 
  • Strong skillset and experience with business intelligence tools, capabilities, and best practices essential 
  • Database Management (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Access, SQL) 
  • Knowledge of data modelling & integration desirable 
  • Experience with agile methodologies (e.g., SDLC, Jira) desirable
