Job Description

Purpose of the job

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, the Technical Engineer will be responsible for project delivery and 3rd Line support and will be a good generalist with proven experience working with many common enterprise products and services.

The role, while based in Mauritius, is a global in nature.  The Technical Engineer will work closely with other Infrastructure team members across the globe.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide strategic planning of the products and services
  • Carry out project work which may include travel to other Ocorian offices.
  • Provide leadership in the ongoing development of the products or services
  • Train and mentor other staff on those products and services
  • Work with the wider business to understand requirement and strategic goals
  • Define clear processes
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Ensure sufficient cover is possible on the systems and services when you are unavailable
  • Understand and participate in business acquisition tasks involving office integration, data migration and application consolidation.
  • Play a key role in the management and maintenance of Ocorian’s global IT environment.
  • Work in a risk adverse manner and in accordance with Ocorian security policies.
  • Monitoring of Ocorian systems.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Strong knowledge and proven experience in infrastructure products and services including, but not limited to:

  • Cloud services which must include Microsoft Azure, with working knowledge of configuring and maintaining Enterprise Landing Zones, RBAC, virtual networks, ExpressRoute, Application registration and other associated services.
  • Strong understanding of IP networks and products
  • Desktop deployment and management technologies, including scripted application installs.
  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop configuration, management and maintenance
  • Proven experience with ESX and other common hypervisor platforms
  • Storage infrastructure, include storage arrays and SAN fabric

Maintain up-to-date industry qualifications in your specialist areas
