Job Description

Main Responsibilities
 

  • Comprehensively providing client and portfolio management services for a number of dedicated fund mandates in the alternative sector (especially Infrastructure, Real Estate, Debt assets), ensuring customer satisfaction and development of the client relationship.
  • Assuming the lead relationship role for clients and key service providers (e.g. investment advisors, delegated portfolio managers, depositaries, and fund administrators). This means:

For fund mandates under the advisory model of portfolio management:

    •  
  1. Ensuring competent and timely execution of portfolio transactions on behalf of the fund, including (i) review of investment presentations/recommendations from the Investment Advisor, (ii) analytical review of underlying transaction documentation, (iii) ensuring coordination of ex-ante and ex-post compliance check as well as asset-level AML checks, (iv) documenting the necessary investment decisions, (vi) follow-through of the deal to completion.
  2. Ongoing monitoring of asset performance including review of periodic reporting and KPIs in alignment with the Investment Advisor/Asset Manager.

For fund mandates under the delegation model of portfolio management:

    •  
  1. Ensuring appropriate involvement in portfolio transactions in advance of execution by the Delegated Portfolio Manager, notably with respect to the coordination of the risk management reviews with the risk management team, and valuation reviews with the valuation team.
  2. Ensuring competent and timely monitoring of portfolio management activities undertaken by the Delegated Portfolio Manager, through the effective use of quarterly KPIs.
  • Preparation of quarterly reporting to the AIFM board covering the previous quarter’s activities of the relevant funds.
  • Maintenance of corporate and operational documentation related to the funds, including record keeping of board meeting minutes, drafting and regular reviews and update of the operating memorandum, etc.
  • Participation in project work, aimed at (i) the continued improvement of our service delivery and efficiency (process/procedure development, automation, standardisation) and (ii) compliance with the latest regulatory developments.

Qualifications Required
  • University degree in economics or law
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience with Luxembourg AIFs, ideally within an AIFM operation
  • Experience and ability to communicate well with clients in a high-profile environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Fluency in English and German required
  • Experience with capital market products, especially for finance instruments. Prior experience with derivatives as hedging tool a plus
  • Excellent analytical and strong numerical skills, coupled with communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to perform well within a team
  • Ability to take ownership of daily workload and document the status of deliverables
  • Solutions-oriented mind-set, with the ability to balance business needs with applicable laws & regulations
  • Ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure whilst delivering within agreed deadlines
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work methodically and accurately
  • Initiative for continuous self-development as well as improvement of internal processes
