56,000 - 70,000 USD

Purpose of the job

This position will develop and maintain a portfolio of cash flow models for structured finance transactions providing periodic analysis on behalf of various parties. Asset classes underlying an analyst’s portfolio are comprised of residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, auto loans, student loans, and credit card receivables. The analyst will design cash flow models based on information set forth in governing documents for the purpose of preparing periodic reports for clients. These reports will incorporate a periodic analysis of underlying assets through remittance reports provided via other transaction parties. In addition, the analyst will be responsible for structuring the various tax aspects of each transaction through detailed monitoring of actual collateral aggregates and resulting bond payments and taxable-income calculations. The analyst will work with banks, servicers, issuers, Wall Street underwriters, trustees, asset managers, accountants, and attorneys on various aspects of the transactions. The analyst will be exposed to a wide range of transactions and will have the opportunity to work closely with clients and develop new business services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor cash flow models using multiple software tools including excel, vba, c/c++.
  • Perform analysis of complex data sets to ensure accurate reporting from mortgage servicers using database software tools.
  • Communicate with third-party support for the reconciliation of various database reporting variances.
  • Perform quantitative analysis for the interpretation of tax analysis to support clients and other transaction parties.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly progress reports for clients for both periodic cash flows and tax analysis.
  • Develop and enhance processes for use in database management and operational infrastructure.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge. Experience & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of financial concepts
  • The ability to learn quickly and be self motivated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and MS Office
  • Experience with SQL, VBA, C/C++, Java, Python, or other higher level programming languages is not required, but would be helpful
  • MS degree in Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
