Job Description

Purpose of the role: 

Responsible for administering a portfolio of local and international trust companies, and minimizing corporate risk by ensuring compliance with Ocorian Services (Bermuda) Limited's established policies and procedures and with current legislation. Provides leadership and direction to other fee earners and administrative staff within Ocorian Services (Bermuda) Limited -Trust Services and any such other activities as may be reasonably required by the role.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the efficient administration of a portfolio of trust companies.
  • Recording billable time averaging 5.5 hours per day.
  • Setting up and maintaining accurate and complete records for trusts, utilising existing technology.
  • Attending to client needs in a timely, professional manner and maintaining knowledge and control over assets and activities of trusts administered.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Ocorian Services (Bermuda) Limited procedures and current Trustee Acts and Proceeds of Crime legislation.
  • Ensuring legal compliance with the respective trust deeds by adhering to strict controls over all decisions and calling upon trust attorneys for advice or decisions where interpretation is required and or mandated. Billing and collection of receivables.
  • Assist the Client Director-Trust Services in the supervision of Trust Officers and Trust Administrators as required. Assist Management with the general administration of client and company processes.
Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Formal trustee qualification or other related university or tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' trusts administration experience exhibiting supervisory ability and leadership qualities.
  • In depth knowledge of trust administration, including corporate trusts, together with broad accounting and investment knowledge.
  • Ability to successfully train and develop staff.
  • Uses initiative and works without the need for constant supervision. Have sound teambuilding and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs, specifically, MS Word.
  • Possess highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients, attorneys and colleagues, and exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters
