Job Description

Purpose of the role

The Regional Business Operations Lead will be accountable to the Head of Corporate Services for ensuring the effective delivery of operational services for the Americas region, these services are delivered both by teams in the region and outside the region via outsourcing agreements.  

The Regional Business Operations Lead will manage the relationship between the regionally contracted service providers and the service recipients ensuring that both parties deliver to the contracted service level agreements and KPIs.

The Regional Business Operations Lead will be accountable to each jurisdictional risk committee for reporting of performance to the KPIs and for improving and implementing more collaborative and efficient procedures, and enhancing the services provided by all parties. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the Regional Operational Teams, inspiring them to achieve objectives, manage performance and drive a culture of continuous operational improvement. 
  • Responsible for managing the relationships with outsourced service providers ensuring that service levels are adhered to and quality is maintained. Working quickly to resolve identified issues and collaborating to deliver service improvements by all parties to the agreement.
  • Maintain effective relationships with the regionally based Managing Directors by providing operational reporting and management insight to enable them to effectively manage their client and regulatory obligations.
  • Engender collaborative working relationships across stakeholder groups leading regional adoption of agreed standards and personal ownership.
  • Ensure that services provided adhere to regulatory obligations, keeping abreast of local changes to regulation and working with local Risk and Compliance Managers to update relevant policies, guides and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Working with the Global process owner to identify opportunities for further outsourcing of services, automation and process improvement. Collaborating on the definition of global standardisation and simplification of entity administration and other Ocorian Client Services provided in the region.
  • Work closely with each jurisdiction in the region to manage operational business performance and service excellence. Assisting in managing workloads where possible
  • Management of the business operations teams in the jurisdiction in which the role holder is based.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial or professional services industry. Ideally with operational and management experience in a Corporate/ Trust company management/administration environment.  
  • Strong operational experience delivering regulatory compliant services
  • Understanding of delivering regulated services to Funds, Corporate, Capital Markets and Trust Client entities  
  • A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations as far as it pertains to our industry. 
  • Experience and understanding of the economic substance and other regulatory reporting requirements in the region 
  • Experience of collaborating with off-island teams and outsourced service providers to deliver the right outcomes for the local businesses. 
  • Experience of leading teams through change to deliver positive business outcomes.  

EDUCATION/ MEMBERSHIPS    

  • Strong academic qualifications, preferably with a professional designation.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, from a recognised College or University, preferably with a concentration in business, finance, accounting or legal designation.
