Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support the Governance team and Funds Services business and be accountable for the operations and services standards, whilst creating strong profitable and personal relationships with clients. 

The candidate must have a particular strength in FATCA and CRS reporting and the technical ability to also assist the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (“AMLCO”) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) on a portfolio of fund and capital markets client entities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team with FATCA/CRS reporting and compliance obligations for clients.
  • Assisting the AMLCO and MLRO on a portfolio of fund and capital markets client entities.
  • Serving as the DMLRO on a portfolio of fund and capital markets client entities.
  • Handling substance reporting for Ocorian clients and improving processes, systems and controls related thereto.
  • Assisting with the Liquidation Services business line and providing liquidation and CIMA deregistration services to Cayman Islands corporates and partnerships in accordance with Cayman Islands law.   
  • Reviewing financial statements and supporting schedules for client structures in accordance with IFRS, liaising with external auditors accordingly.
  • Expanding the scope of the services provided to existing clients and ensuring the smooth running of the services offering.
  • Ensuring the client deadlines are met and producing fee proposals for client services enquiries.
  • Developing and maintaining procedures, systems, and controls to ensure that the client entities are in compliance with the Cayman Islands AML Regulations.
  • Preparing entity risk assessments for the various client entities.
  • Attending and presenting at board meetings.

Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • A business, accounting or law degree and a minimum of 5+ years prior experience in a regulatory and compliance role.
  • Thorough knowledge of FATCA/CRS laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Cayman Islands AML laws and regulations.
  • Excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Team oriented with the desire to thrive in a diverse, dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Experience in MS Word, Outlook, iManage and corporate administration database software (preferably Viewpoint).
  • A strong sense of commitment and responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills i.e. thorough command of the English language including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Sound organizational skills.
