Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To work within the UK Client Services team, with support from the Transaction Management team, on the administration of client Bonds and Loans and portfolios within the corporate trust and agency product services of Ocorian/Nordic Trustee. You will have principal responsibility for working with Programme Management, Technology and the Client Services head to embed new client structures within our technology infrastructure and administer them in accordance with the governing transaction documentation. You will play a key role in the development of the Paying Agency service offering, transcending various functions to ensure the growth and success of the corporate trust product line.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the client on-boarding process alongside the Transaction Management team, ensuring transactions are on-boarded on a timely basis, and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure new client structures are set up on our technology infrastructure in a controlled manner;
  • Help build out the Paying Agent functionality in conjunction with the Project Management, Transaction Management and other internal teams;
  • Managing the day-to-day administration of client matters relating to Loans/Bonds and other asset portfolios with reference to transaction documentation;
  • Performing operative functions relating to the provision of, among others, paying agent, account bank, calculation agent and facility agent services;
  • Managing risk exposure by ensuring risk/review procedures and all operating processes are followed at all times, ensuring prompt escalation of any issues to the members of the Management team and Directors as appropriate;
  • Effectively managing the billing and aged debt collection of relevant client fee arrangements;
  • Taking an active role in relevant projects within the department to enhance the client delivery and increased efficiency of the business;
  • Being actively involved in on-going client related matters;
  • Carrying out any additional function/activity that is reasonably required by the Management team from time to time.


Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree standard, however applications from those qualified by experience will also be equally considered;
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years or more relevant financial services / professional experience, preferably in a client-facing role within a banking operations department, Corporate Trust business or similar organisation;
  • As a result of study and experience, possess a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of working in a control environment;
  • Strong IT skills, in particular strong Excel skills and experience (training can be provided) with asset administration systems (e.g. eFront, NAV, Nomentia).
  • Direct Paying Agency experience is a must. Detailed knowledge of SWIFT communication process with Euroclear/Clearstream is also required. 


  • In-depth knowledge of the corporate actions process, SWIFT messaging, Paying agency duties in relation to Euroclear/Clearstream and DTC;
  • Strong relationships with the European and US clearing houses above;
  • Proven client handling skills with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a solutions-driven approach to problem solving;
  • Ability to work using own initiative and make decisions within corporate policies;
  • Strong technical skills in the Corporate Trust Bond/Loan and Asset Administration arena;
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
