Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance, the role-holder will apply experience of leadership, regulatory analysis, regulatory risk, compliance and reporting to oversee (to agreed Group standards as a minimum) each local compliance team within the Region.

The role-holder will use excellent communication, time management and organisational skills to manage issues, proactively identify areas to be enhanced and contribute to Ocorian Group’s future strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of a consistent and high performing Regional Compliance Team
  • Provide thought leadership in design thinking and organisational transformation strategy to support Global Heads within the Risk & Compliance function
  • Lead a Regional Compliance Team with the delivery of regulatory obligations and analysis of locally impacting regulator developments
  • Manage a Regional Compliance Team in the maintenance of the local regulatory matrix of applicable rules and regulations including guidance notes
  • Collaborate effectively with the Global Head of Compliance for the Ocorian Group in the regional management of all compliance obligations
  • Lead a Regional Compliance Team in delivering local compliance monitoring & reporting of findings in relation to each local business within the Region by adherence to local regulatory requirements and adopting Group standards as a minimum
  • Lead and manage the Heads of Compliance within the Region in the delivery of Global projects and change initiatives by collaborating effectively with other members of the Risk & Compliance leadership team
  • Lead the local Heads of Compliance within the region in the management of local office regulator inspection visits and associated activity pre and post visit
  • Holds a statutory compliance role for the location in which they are based
Qualifications Required

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Relevant professional qualification(s) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the international Compliance industry at senior management level. Qualified to Diploma level.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills along with a commitment to working as part of a global team
  • Professional outlook and manner with the ability to relate effectively to stakeholders at all levels in the business and to manage stakeholder requirements effectively and on a timely basis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to multi-task
  • A sound knowledge of financial management processes with experience of budget management and financial controls
  • Self-motivation and proactivity coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain and develop strong stakeholder relationships across the Ocorian Group
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of leadership/ management methodologies and approaches
  • Strong technical compliance / regulatory knowledge and experience of having applied this knowledge in a fast moving and demanding environment
