Job Description

Purpose of the Job

Ocorian provides services to a diversified client base but with a strong focus on Corporate and Institutional Clients and Investors. By understanding our clients' needs, we enable them to grow their business sustainably. We deliver high-quality, tailored Corporate, Fund, Capital Market and Private Wealth services to our clients, with a view to building long-term relationships. An exciting opportunity is now open for an ambitious Sales Executive with a proven track record.

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for commercial/sales and business development related affairs of Ocorian. Your focus will be on actively building your pipeline by continuously marketing and selling our services mainly in the African continent. The Business Development Manager reports to the Group Chief Commercial Officer and will be closely working together with other Sales Executives as well with the Mauritius Office (especially with the MD, the Client Service Director and the Operations Director). 

Main Responsibilities

Sales/Business Development Africa

  • Aggressively growing the business by driving sales and business development to potential new clients and business partners;
  • Identifying potential introducers and strategic partners, thereby building and helping to maintain a robust working relationship with these partners;
  • Initiates and attends meetings with prospects and business partners in order to present and sell Ocorian and its services and products;
  • Spot new trends in the industry; contributes to product/market development with commercial potential;
  • Responsible and accountable for fast prospect conversions together with our dedicated Onboarding Team;
  • Working closely together with stakeholders of all service lines;
  • This role requires extensive traveling as well remote business development by using different sales techniques!

Compliance

  • Ocorian adhere's to the highest international compliance standards with regards to KYC/AML, therefore you always need to adhere to Ocorian's client acceptance and AML processes and procedures;
  • Shows good judgement of situations and working closely with Compliance and escalates when required to management;

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • University degree of a reputable university, preferably in law, business, economics or accounting;
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of proven professional and successful experience in international business development, preferably in a consulting or professional services firm;
  • Understands and is willing and capable to learn about the Global Business services offered by Ocorian, within a limited period of time;
  • Is a highly credible individual with intellectual ability and a “hands-on” mentality;
  • Self-starter with the ability to close a deal successfully and fast;
  • Able to show a track record of previous successful sales as well as a personal network of business introducers and partners;
  • Has strategic awareness of business and commercial issues, is persistent and consistent;
  • Possesses an understanding of relevant compliance & risk issues;
  • Has excellent English and French language and writing skills, any additional language will be considered as an advantage;
  • Outgoing, good people skills, result driven and committed to travel extensively.
