Job Description

Purpose of the job

Assist the Risk & Compliance team and support the management of the compliance monitoring programme, maintenance of registers and collection of information for reporting

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting with the maintenance and update of a variety of standard compliance registers including the Complaints Register, Departures Register, related control and reporting data sheets
  • Undertaking Transaction Monitoring and assisting with the preparation of reports to senior management
  • Carrying out tests on the business’ level of compliance with procedures and the effectiveness of the procedures as part of the Compliance Monitoring Programme and report findings to the Senior Compliance Manager
  • Conduct ad-hoc screenings on request and escalate adverse reports to the right channels
  • Monitoring and updating the compliance calendars for Mauritius on a monthly basis
  • Collating information and assisting with the preparation of reports to provide key information to the Senior Compliance Manager both on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Ensure that documents on our internal Portal is up to date at all times
  • Carrying out any compliance related function/activity as required by the Regional Head of Compliance and Senior Compliance Manager from time to time

Qualifications Required

Qualifications

The post holder will hold at least a first degree in Law, Law and Management, Finance with Law (or equivalent) or a relevant professional compliance related qualification.

  • At least 1 or 2 years of compliance experience
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Methodical and accurate approach with an eye for detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively and to prioritise and organise workflow
  • Computer literacy is essential.
